Information about the service
| Speed |
| Your nbn connection | Maximum (down/up) | Typical busy period (7pm to 11pm) |
| nbn fixed line |
25/10 Mbps |
Not yet measured |
The maximum is the most the nbn speed tier can deliver, and is only
possible outside the busy period. The typical busy period speed is
not yet measured: speeds between 7pm and 11pm can be lower than the maximum, and we'll publish a figure once we have one.
Speed also depends on your connection type and, on FTTN and FTTB, the
copper line; your router, Wi-Fi, devices and home wiring; and the
service you're using. Using Ethernet and a well-placed, up-to-date
router helps.
|
| If your line can't reach this speed |
Some lines, mostly FTTN and FTTB, can't reach their tier's maximum.
We check within 20 working days of go-live. If yours can't reach this
plan, we'll tell you within 5 working days of finding out, and you can
move to a cheaper plan your line can reach at no cost (we credit the
difference back to go-live), or leave at no cost.
|
| Equipment |
No modem or router is supplied, and you don't have to buy one
from us. You bring your own. Your router gets its address by
DHCP (IPoE), untagged, with no PPPoE, no VLAN and no username or
password.
|
| What's not included |
No phone service. This service cannot make calls,
including calls to 000. Keep a mobile phone for emergencies. We don't
offer Priority Assistance, and the Customer Service Guarantee doesn't
apply (it only covers voice services). nbn services don't work in a
power outage. Before you order, check with your medical, security or
fire alarm supplier whether it works over nbn and what the
alternatives are; register a medical alarm with nbn on 1800 687 626.
|
Information about pricing
| Minimum total cost |
$0.00 if you cancel before your service goes live,
other than any one-off nbn charge you agreed to for work nbn has
already done. Once it's live, the least you can pay is one day of
service: the monthly price divided by the days in that month, at most
$2.57. Setup fee: $0.00.
|
| How you're billed and pay |
Monthly in arrears, by calendar month (Sydney time). Your first
invoice covers the part month from go-live; your last, the part month
up to your cancellation date, both by the day. Each invoice is emailed
and due within 14 days of its date. Pay by bank
transfer (EFT) or PayID using the details on the invoice; neither
costs anything extra. No card payments. Nothing is suspended
automatically if a payment is late: we contact you, and financial
hardship help is available.
|
| One-off charges |
Only nbn charges we pass on at cost, with no margin: nbn's new
development charge for some newer estates and buildings, and nbn
connection box (NTD) or fibre upgrade charges that some FTTP and HFC
premises need for faster plans. If one applies, the portal shows the
amount, including GST, and you must agree to it before you order.
|
| Changing plan |
Free. It takes effect when nbn completes the change, usually within a
day or two. In that month you pay each plan's price by the day.
|
| Price changes |
Your service keeps the price it was ordered at unless we give you at
least 30 days' notice by email. You can leave before a new price
applies, at no cost.
